The Positive Energy Plane, or Plane of Life, is a universe of dynamic energy phenomena. Without "positive plane protection", visitors gain 2d6 hp each round, and when these exceed twice their original total, they explode in flames. If visitors do not bring a solid blindfold or a "continual darkness" spell, each will be permanently blinded at once. There isn't any air, and no one can cast "airy". Visitors will need a polymorph self spell, adaptation, or just hold their breath. Visitors cannot see a thing because of the brightness. There isn't much to see. The plane is inhabited by spiritual creatures of incomprehensible ways, and visitors will not be able even to get them to stand still without a holy cleric's help, and communication is probably impossible. Healing spells are at maximum effectiveness, and "raise dead" always succeeds here (but it is costly to get an NPC cleric to make the shift). The plane is ringed by towers which resist incursions by the plane.

The Ministry of Elemental Good -- Positive Energy Ministers
Both the Bible and the Koran are full of descriptions of God as source of light and life. Creation begins with light, which God separates from the darkness. At the first Christmas, Christians proclaim that Light came into the world, and the darkness has not, and cannot, overcome it.
Positive energy ministers minister at birth, and to children, and for healing. They get +2 on rolls to turn the undead.

Elemental spells for Positive Ministers (Second Edition)

Level 1: Dancing Lights; Endure Heat; Invisibility to Undead; Light;
Level 2: Detect Invisible; Resist Fire;
Level 3: Continual Light; Starshine;
Level 4: Blessed Warmth ("Tome of Magic"); Reflecting Pool (uses the sun rather than water); Ultravision ("Spells and Magic");
Level 5: Moonbeam;
Level 6: Sunburst (as fireball, only damages undead and unholy creatures no save; others in area save or be blinded for 1 round/level);
Level 7: Sunray;

Possible additional spells for Positive Energy ministers: spells the weaken, damage, or disrupt undead, especially at a distance; spells that produce light;

Possible additional abilities for Positive Energy ministers:

+1/die on all healing spells
