Cilia are a surface adaptation that helps propel things along.

In the oviduct, the cilia push the egg toward the uterus.

• the ciliated epithelium


• the underlying connective tissue ("lamina propria")

Hotshots:

Oviduct epithelium features occasional cells with large slender nuclei and very little cytoplasm. They look like pegs driven between the ciliated epithelial cells. Find a peg cell.
