This variant is popular in NOST circles. This is the popular, pre-1968 version.
I am still having some trouble with faulty recognizing of checks.

Stalemate is a win for the player giving it.
I decided it would be a draw if after 50 moves (25 by each side), no unit had been captured.
These are simple illustrations rather than strong opponents.
